Re: King College Basketball

It's gonna be hard for dockery to run the show from the bench. I may have just forgotten how good he was. I forgot that his talent led his team to the region tournament. oh wait it didn't maybe you should step back a think for a second. it's not hard to be good when your taking all the shots. and as for him going to the NBA you'll be lucky if he even gets any playing time up there because there are some guys up there who will show big bad Dockery what basketball really is, and I assure you it'll be a lot different than that cumberland B.S. he played. So just think cause I predict that soon you'll be comparing him to jesus himself.

15 Matt Buchanan - G - SR - 6-1
51 Kyle Wood - F - JR - 6-3
31 Maurice Walker - G - JR - 6-1
45 Torrington Cox - F - SR - 6-6
41 Josh Edwards - F - SR - 6-3
11 Nick Pasqua - G - SR - 6-0
33 RuShaun Reeves - G - JR - 6-0
20 Phil Weatherford - G - SOPH - 5-11
23 David Johnson - G - SOPH - 6-3
25 JT Blair - G - SOPH - 6-2
21 DeShaud Johnson - G - SOPH - 5-10
53 Clarence Smith - F - SOPH - 6-5
-- Mark Dockery ? G ? FR ? 6-4

The guys in bold print are very strong players for the Tornado right now. They were huge huge contributors to the success that the Tornado experienced this season and will ble looked at strongly to guide the underclassmen and new freshman next year at King.

Coach Pitts is building a very strong program for the future up here at King. He is a strong believer in full court pressure defense and being a strong competitor and great teammate not just during games but mostly during practices. With him, you will earn what he thinks you should receive. Mark Dockery, although a strong scorer the past few years in Southwest Virginia, will have to adjust to the level of play that he will see in the AAC. Although this is NAIA Division II, this isnt the Cumberland District and this isnt high school basketball. This is also a team that is all about the total team concept and playing a role and Mark, coming in as a freshman, will more than likely be reserved to a role playing position for the Tornado. The Tornado are coming off a very successful season in which Coach Pitts guided them to a place in the NAIA National Tournament. If Mark Dockery comes in and proves his worth and plays as well or as even as close as you say he is (Division I - Duke, SEC or whatever), if he has that kind of ability, he will be the AAC Freshman of the Year next year. I am not saying that he isn't a good player, but if he is as good as everyone has made him out to be from up at Twin Springs... next year will be a defining year for him. Because if he has NCAA Division I ability, he should easily adapt to the college game at this level and should be easily able to handle playing for such a demanding coach as Coach Pitts his. It will be a culture change... lets just see how your visions of him hold out. Because as much as some of you talk about Twin Springs Titan basketball, there are a few hundred other great players around this nation who are just as good and a lot better.... much much much better than what we see in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. When it comes to basketball on the large scale, although they have had a great GROUP A program, Twin Springs is a very very very small fish in a very very huge pond. Any smart and intelligent coach or person would be able to tell you that. Put some of their teams in the past up against the GROUP AAA teams Booker T. Washington or Highland Springs... you easily find out that even if with two or three great players... when you play an entire team of Division I talent... your program just does not look as intimidating as it once did. I'm not trying to down the Titan program or any program in Southwest Virginia... that is just the plain truth.

Regardless of what King used to do I seriously think they will change their style since they landed a big recruit in Dockery. I believe they will run an offense similar to what we ran this year at the springs. Letting Mark run the show and create things for others as well.

Are you [censored] me man? Highschool and College are two different worlds. He may have been good in highschool, but that doesn't mean he going to be just as good in college. Speaking of TS and college basketball. How is that Webb kid doing at Appy St. I might be thinking of someone else.
